5 stars out of 5
What a great book, Fifo “50 States” is. You follow a cute brown bear named Fifo as he travel from state to state learning about each state’s flower, bird, capital, tree and when it became a state. This book is great for children who are beginning to learn about geography. If they are having trouble remembering the state capitals or other facts about a given state, with the help of Hayley’s rhyming book, they will have fun learning about each of the 50 states. I loved the illustrations in the book, as they seemed to capture all the important features of each state, including the actual drawing of how the state looks on the map and its abbreviation.
I just can’t stop raving about this book and what an excellent teaching tool it is. I remember when I was growing up and learning about geography and state facts they only had flash cards, which really weren’t fun to study and learn more. But, now, with Fifo, “50 States,” your child will enjoy learning and want to share this book with their friends. You will be surprised when they begin walking around the house and naming each state capital and sharing tidbits of information with you at the dining room table.
And, this would make a great gift for children who love to pretend they are travels. Or, if you are planning a cross country trip or trip down the coast this summer, why not pick up this book and prep your children with useful and fun facts about each state you will pass through. You can make a game out of it.
